Second Culture Outward 3

So on Thursaday Jayson and I took a trip to Los Angeles to go see Truth Calkins at the tonic bar at Erehwon,

I could ramble on and on about getting to be a passenger in our  Volkwagon RaBBit with the excellent stereo where I get a chance to listen to music in what I consider to be the best  environment for listening to music: in a car, with excellent stereo system; our RaBBit  only has a factory stereo set up in it , but it is very good..

I have been so incredibly productive creatively in the last several months, and the work is good, but it was/ is getting too easy to create  good music. Iam definitely not complaining. 

In the last year I have created several good titles that are at least 80% done or more:

So what a great experience to wind up spending some quality time with Truth Calkins- We talked about a lot of stuff and he is, after talking to him for the third time now quite an engaging and really nice person... He served us  up a lot of "freebies": we started with some shots of Cantron, Omica mineral shot,  Spun water....

We ordered thee Jing Master coffee chocolate coffee ice blended: it was completely loaded with like tons medicinal mushrooms, maca, cacao, pumpkin seed oil, eucomia bark, cistanche and it is all Body Ecology Diet so there is zero percent glycemic in it. It is all sweetemed with stevia,  and birch xylitol--

the feeling was pretty amazing after consuming all of that amazing food..

completely in awe of Truth Calkins...

This is the life, using all of these amzing herbs and stuff to completely enhance my creativity to over the top so that its just spilling over like an endless fountain.

I had to talk about that a little bit more.

I made some amazing connections in my  studio being more of a keyboard player jamming to my Lava Lamp framework-- 

I have two versions of Lava Lamp that  are done versions:

one is all sequencer and arpegiator from Z-1 with some minor 309--

thee other version is a version with lots of dialog samples, mainly Truth Calkins talking about chinese herbs.

Yes Iam becoming more of a player:

Keyboards, guitar, vocals--

of course struggling inside myself with some of those elements as they are not very oriented to the typical template of some of the genres I would sell too--

the vocals I am just  going to start trying to work on it more as an instrument I think --- 

although, Iam also  playing with the notion of actually  having a selection of songs that could be performed in a normal setting with an acoustic guitar or a keyboard...

Im feeling a drawing toward all of that

Second Culture Outward 2

I started the day down the hill for some good intropspection on my thoughts about music and  "radiant health". riding in Jaysons car the whole time I got to listen to all my recent work in progress with a good sound system..

which I suppose in the end is a format i should always stay with--

I really think "the ORB" had the right idea with the layout of their first disc "Adventures Beyond The Ultra World" with the opening in a single track 5 minutes length, and then the songs just start getting longer--

I need to always see it as getting to do my favorite part of the song more often, which is the opening, and a "build"; but, Ive just got to get them going in 2 minutes instead of 12.

Ive fairly well decided to have a new CD that is shorter tracks: 6-8 minutes, and then 2 a litttle longer... (10 -12 minutes)

I figure that is very reasonable, because when u really think about it a lot of/most of  Klaus Schulzes work is brilliant for 12 minutes and starts to lose it after that, only a few exceptions: Bayreuth Return,.......cant really think of more,  .......  although I love that so much (Bayreuth Return) that I especiallylove  the 40 minute verksion of it as the bonus on the re release....

the Orbs UFOrb is brilliant for  song lengths.

I think that in my mind set know i would have even a shorter song on that format---

so I was totally blown away by the sound of my work--

"Grab the First Channel" is brilliant,

"Lava Lamp" seriers t urning out very nicely:

especially with me working on this verasion 3 now taking my time and writing  guitar, and doing some singing...

trying and  enjoying getting into singing--

I can tell you one thing right away and that is that I love  the whole idea of being pioneering with a  singing technique... being laid back a little, melodic, and melodic twist, ,,, Mantric, hypnotic---

but Im also very interested in spoken word again, which Ive made a  huge reattraction too that

Second Culture Out ward part 1

working in this new world--

the awareness of my thoughts:

"the dialog" as Dr David Jubb calls it: 

he says 'that when a person's dialog is completely turned off, that they do not dream"

Im not sure I like that because I like to dream, but that brings on thee conclusive evidence that dreaming during sleep is a healing thing for the brain---

a number of things have risen up lately:

One of the biggest and constant struggles is my music as usual--

for the last 16 years I have been seeing my interest in music as being to the world of instrumentals; and more specifically: basically "synth only" instrumentals--

which I suppose was great 15 years ago, or even just 10 years ago--

but now everybody and their brother who on some level fancies themselves a musician even in the smallest aspect can follow those aspirations--

After acquiring a most important final round of hardware gear, I have come to a point of seeing my sonic pallette as completely limitless from a completely musical point of view--

I realize now that after seeing lyoutube, and everybodies little contribution to their  15 minutes of fame on the musical horizon , I  must break out out of the instrumentals; must break out of the synth only world. As much as I dont want to--- I have the perfect set up for what Ive always wanted: "Berlin School Jesus": Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra, Radio Massacre International.  But that is really no problem, because I am more than capable of being a really creative singer. Back when I formulated my original ideas as Second Culture it was all about INFLUENCE from those "Berlin School" boys... and really my greatest aspiration was massive hybridization.... which at the time I dont think I realized as exactly that.... but Ive arrived at a time with  Second culture being over 25 years old and Im saying to myself :  "Why"
